Artist Biography for Scott Gillies

Originally a forester from the prairies, Scott Gillies now works as an artist in Vancouver, BC.  Wherever he calls home, he has been honing his many talents as an animator, sculptor, illustrator, and filmmaker by working both on his own projects and on professional and creative commissions.

For the past few years, he has worked as a character animator for Nerd Corps Entertainment; animating television cartoons such as League of Super Evil and Hot Wheels: Battle Force Five and most recently the upcoming tv series Rated A for Awesome.  In 2006, Scott created his first live action film: Love Floats for Some Reason, a quirky 25 minute comedy under the company name Azara Effect Productions.  By 2009, he was ready for a follow up; a mock 1918 newsreel, Jarot Seisman: Frontlines Beautician, which follows the antics of a young Allied soldier doing his best to help the Army look their best.  Currently, Scott is in postproduction for his third film: $12 a Bundle, a short comedy about the temptations of power and greed that come with being a firewood peddler at a campground.
